One of Kenya’s most renowned and contentious comedians, Eric Omondi, has taken a stand against Kamene Goro amidst their ongoing online feud sparked by Eric’s social media commentary on Kenyan artists and the music industry.
The clash originated with Kamene Goro challenging Eric Omondi to cease his criticisms, asserting that he contributes nothing constructive to the Kenyan music scene. She firmly urged him to channel his efforts into generating ideas that support musicians rather than indulging in online trolling.
In response to Kamene’s rebuke, Eric Omondi did not take it lightly and opted to retaliate. During an interview with Vincent Mboya, Eric alleged that Kamene Goro engages in marijuana use, suggesting that it has adversely impacted her cognitive abilities. According to Eric, Kamene is oblivious to the fact that he is actively advocating for the passage of a bill in parliament requiring a 70% quota for playing Kenyan songs. He implored Kamene to refrain from cannabis use, urging her to conduct thorough research before making unsubstantiated statements.
Furthermore, Eric Omondi accused Kamene of exploiting him for publicity, asserting that she strategically mentions his name in various contexts to ensure widespread attention. This, he claims, is a calculated move on her part to capitalize on his popularity for personal gain.
