The One Kenya Alliance is formally in tatters after two of its principals consented to back Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 Presidential bid.
As indicated by sources, Musalia Mudavadi of ANC and Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya have called it quits, spelling the demise of the outfit even before its launch.
Sources suggested that Ruto and Mudavadi camps have started collaboration talks that are probably going to solidify by mid-February to prepare for an alliance arrangement.
The sources inside ANC revealed that Mudavadi ruled out the chance of joining the Azimio La Umoja Movement, which is propelling a Raila candidature.
Mudavadi is said to have requested his soldiers to stop hostilities against Ruto.
Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala had on Sunday said everything was all good assuming Ruto and Mudavadi were in talks.
“We don’t want Musalia to contest the presidency for the sake of it. If he has done his simulations and knows he can win in a coalition, so be it,” he said.
He went on: “We are in the season of political persuasion and transfers. Politics is a game of possibilities.”
Bungoma Senator and Ford Kenya pioneer Moses Wetangula is said to have a weakness for Ruto.
Gideon Moi of KANU however has said he wouldn’t see any problems with working with Raila Odinga and supporting his Presidential bid in the general elections.
Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka is additionally said to have capitulated to pressure however fears a backlash among his partners who have taken steps to leave him assuming that he backs ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
