“Chaos as Zoo Keeper Eaten Alive by Pack of Lions in Front of Visitors”

Tragedy struck at Safari World Bangkok when veteran zookeeper Jian Rangkharasamee, 58, was dragged down and eaten alive by a pride of lions.

The horrific attack happened after Rangkharasamee stepped out of his jeep inside the lion enclosure. Witnesses say one lion crept up behind him before pouncing, with several others quickly joining in to tear at his flesh.

Tourists trapped inside their cars honked horns and shouted in desperation, but the animals continued mauling him as onlookers watched in terror.

Professor Tavatchai Kanchanarin, who witnessed the ordeal, said: “The lion approached from about 10 metres away, grabbed him from behind, and dragged him to the ground. Then three or four others joined in.”

The attack reportedly lasted 15 agonizing minutes before staff could intervene. Rangkharasamee, who had worked with lions for nearly 30 years, was rushed to Intrarat Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
