In an atypical turn of events, inhabitants of Busia found themselves embroiled in an unconventional rescue mission following the actions of a suspected thief determined to elude capture.
The incident transpired during the early hours of Friday, January 12, as vigilant citizens intercepted the suspect and his accomplices en route to committing a crime.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that the residents’ alertness was triggered when an individual illuminated the group with a flashlight around 1 am. Seeking to evade the pursuing citizens, the suspect, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the nearby structure was a latrine, impulsively leaped into the pit, attempting to conceal himself.
The concerned resident swiftly raised an alarm, setting off an unforeseen chain of events.
The peculiar circumstances left residents perplexed about the suspect’s unconventional maneuver, prompting questions about how he managed to fit inside the latrine hole.
Omondi Ndiki, a local area administrator, clarified the situation, stating, “A flashlight was directed at the three suspects at around 1 am, and while attempting to escape, the suspect jumped and descended into the pit latrine.”
As dawn broke, Busia residents organized a rescue mission with a dual purpose – to extricate the suspect and assess the structural stability of the latrine.
