Bolt takes Action on Driver who Removed His “MJULUS” to female client

On Monday, a disturbing video surfaced online, featuring a Bolt Driver engaging in inappropriate behavior with a female passenger.

This video was initially shared by the former Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, and it quickly garnered reactions from internet users.

In his post, Sonko extended his apologies for sharing the video while expressing his intention to bring this matter to the public’s attention, especially female passengers who frequently utilize ride-hailing services. He highlighted a concerning trend among some cab drivers, though not all, who have recently taken to intentionally exposing themselves when carrying female passengers.

Sonko then proceeded to issue a warning to women, advising them to exercise caution when using ride-hailing services. He emphasized that such behavior should not be tolerated and urged anyone with more information or similar experiences to come forward, with the aim of protecting their loved ones. He concluded by underlining the video’s educational value, as it served as a stark reminder for young ladies to be extremely cautious when using these services, especially when alone or feeling vulnerable.

Bolt, the ride-hailing company in question, responded by releasing an official statement condemning the driver’s actions and subsequently suspending him from their platform. The statement affirmed Bolt’s unwavering commitment to the safety of both their drivers and passengers. They reassured their clients that they would support them through such distressing incidents.

The company also made it clear that they were actively engaging with the affected rider and expressed deep sympathy for the unfortunate incident. Bolt emphasized their ongoing dedication to addressing such incidents promptly and providing continuous support to their valued clients during difficult moments. Their commitment to vigilance and swift responses in handling such issues remained unwavering, as stated in their official statement.
