Bernard Kamulu, more commonly known as Bena Wa Malines, a well-known figure on TikTok, is currently confronted with grave accusations surrounding his parental responsibilities. These allegations have been brought forward by Lydia Waithera, who asserts herself as Bena’s spouse. Lydia contends that Bena has been neglecting his duties as a father to their two children, aged 3 months and 2 years.
On November 16, a video posted by Nicholas Kioko featured Lydia identifying herself as Bena’s wife and recounting a troubling narrative about their relationship and the challenges she has encountered with the TikTok personality.
Lydia narrated the initial stages of their connection, revealing that she and Bena first met in Juja, where their friendship developed. At that time, she already had a 3-month-old daughter, and Bena took on the responsibility of caring for the child.
“Bena and I crossed paths in Juja and were friends for a while. When our romantic relationship began, I already had a daughter, who was three months old. She is now 2 years old. As we got together, he willingly assumed care for my child,” she elucidated.
However, the dynamics of their relationship underwent a transformation when Bena gained fame, relocated, and brought Lydia and their children to live with him. Initially, everything appeared to be smooth, but complications arose with the birth of their second child, initiating a series of ongoing disputes.
Lydia recounted the challenges she faces while seeking financial support from Bena for their children. According to her, discussions regarding financial assistance often escalate into arguments, with Bena asserting a lack of financial resources. Lydia also expressed frustration over Bena involving his friends in their personal matters, intensifying strain on their relationship.
The situation eventually reached a breaking point, resulting in their separation. Bena took Lydia and their children to her parents’ home, yet he has not formally addressed the issues with Lydia’s family.
