Andrew Kibe: How I lost my house and vehicle after losing a lucrative job at Kiss FM

Losing a job at Kiss FM is never easy. As part of the Radio Africa Group, the station offers generous salaries. For Andrew Kibe, former co-host of the Kiss FM breakfast show, the impact of losing this job went far beyond the loss of a substantial paycheck.

After his departure from Kiss FM, Kibe’s life took a turn for the worse, far from what he had anticipated.

Kiss FM was a significant job for Kibe, providing him with a substantial income. Once that was gone, he quickly lost his car and house.

“2020 ilikuwa imeniokota bruh (2020 was tough for me). I lost my car, I lost the house I was living in, I was homeless for a moment,” he said.

Kibe tried reaching out to friends for help, but they were not eager to assist him. “When I left Kiss FM, my friends thought I had been fired and did not want to help. All the calls and texts I was getting stopped,” he explained.

Previously, Kibe had faced debt issues with friends, adding to his troubles. He attempted to pitch business ideas to potential investors, but none were willing to commit funds. Eventually, he partnered with a friend to start an internet radio station called Rogue Radio.

Kibe’s exit from Kiss FM, where he co-hosted the morning show with Kamene Goro, was widely perceived as a firing. Rumors suggested he was let go to make way for popular comedian Jalang’o, who later left to pursue a career in politics and is now the current MP for Lang’ata.

Since then, Kibe has relocated to the United States, where he hosts controversial shows that are often seen as anti-women. He is also known for his outspoken and provocative personality.
