What began as a dream honeymoon for a newlywed couple in South Africa quickly turned into heartbreak after the groom abruptly ended the marriage upon seeing his bride’s natural face for the first time.
According to consulting psychologist Dr. Molapo, who later counseled the distraught woman, the 40-year-old groom claimed he felt “deceived” by his 35-year-old wife. He accused her of significantly altering her appearance through heavy makeup, artificial eyelashes, and even cosmetic enhancements before the wedding.
The turning point came while the couple was vacationing in the scenic coastal town of Richards Bay. During a swim, the bride’s makeup washed away, revealing her bare face. The groom reportedly told her he could no longer recognize the woman he had married and decided to divorce her on the spot.
It later emerged that the bride had undergone several beauty treatments before the wedding. Their whirlwind romance had begun on Facebook, leading to an engagement just three months after meeting online.
What was meant to mark the beginning of a lifetime together instead ended in a painful split, leaving the bride seeking psychological support to cope with the emotional trauma.
