“Amekataa kulipa fees” Eldoret Student Dumped After Getting Pregnant for Politician sponsor

For over a year, a third-year college student in Eldoret lived what many of her peers could only dream of. Her rent, tuition fees, and daily needs were all covered. The reason? A discreet relationship with a wealthy, older, married man.

She never had to worry about hostel life or financial stress. Everything was handled quietly and generously. But all of that changed two months ago.

“I told him I was pregnant,” she shared anonymously. “He changed completely. Said he didn’t want more children and told me to terminate it. When I refused, he cut me off rent, fees, everything. Then he blocked me on all platforms.”

Now she’s left to face the reality alone, pregnant, and unsure how to tell her family.

Relationship expert Jane Murimi Mugo says such stories are sadly familiar. “Men like that are chasing fantasy, not family. When real-life consequences appear, they disappear.”

Murimi urges the student not to suffer in silence. “Talk to someone you trust. Don’t let shame win. Facing your family is hard, but doing it on your own is harder.”

Cases like hers are reportedly rising across Kenyan campuses secret relationships with powerful men that end in emotional turmoil when things go wrong.

In Eldoret, whispers are growing. Friends have noticed her absence. Some remember the sleek black SUVs that picked her up. Now, the silence says it all.
