Lynda Nyangweso, a former radio presenter for Kiss FM, has recently announced that she identifies as a bisexual woman. Despite being married to a man, she believes it is important to speak out about LGBTQIA rights as they are fundamental human rights. She stated, “No ifs and or buts. LGBTQIA rights are human rights.”
Lynda married her husband Lance Osiri in June 2015 and they have a daughter named Megan Osiro.
In addition to sharing her own story, Lynda expressed her support for the LGBTQIA movement in Kenya and showed solidarity for the Ugandan LGBTQ community after their parliament passed the Anti-Homosexuality Act. This law aims to criminalize the identity and lifestyle of LGBTQ individuals.
Lynda pointed out that homophobia is a bipartisan issue in Kenya and that it is naive to think that there won’t be a push to follow in Uganda’s footsteps. She hopes that by speaking out, more people will understand the importance of LGBTQIA rights and work towards creating a more inclusive society.
It’s important to note that bisexuality refers to a romantic or sexual attraction or behavior towards both males and females, or to more than one gender.
