Accusing the comedian of leveraging her for unpaid publicity for his performances, Shakilla highlighted an incident from 2021 during the filming of Omondi’s notorious Wife Material show. Alleging that Eric outrightly refused to compensate her and fellow cast members, Shakilla expressed frustration over unsuccessful attempts to communicate with him for her overdue payment.
The “Club Covid queen,” as Mishi Dora referred to Shakilla, cited this financial dispute as a catalyst for her strategic theatrical actions to capitalize on the show’s exposure. In a statement on her Instagram live, she lamented, “Eric has used me in so many ways. He did not pay me or anyone on the Wife Material show and was biased and unfair in choosing the winner, so I had to come up with a clever way to benefit from the show.”
Shakilla, emphasizing her motive, added, “If I don’t receive any monetary compensation, at least I’ll gain social media presence out of it.”
In a plea for ethical conduct, Shakilla urged Eric Omondi to fulfill his commitment to supporting local talents. “Eric uses people. You cannot claim you are supporting artists and not compensating content creators,” she expressed.
As of now, Eric Omondi has not responded to these allegations.
