Former Harambee Stars midfielder, McDonald Mariga, has openly called out singer Kevin Bahati, accusing him of chasing clout by dragging his name into publicity stunts.
Mariga expressed disappointment over Bahati’s actions, stating that the artist should stop using his name to create hype. “Bahati needs to stop using my name for clout. I am not into showbiz, he lives a completely different lifestyle from mine,” Mariga said.
According to the retired football star, Bahati recently posted a screenshot of chats that allegedly showed a conversation between the two, suggesting that Bahati was planning to deliver the Ksh 1 million reward promised to Harambee Stars players. However, Mariga dismissed the claims, making it clear that there was no truth to the post.
“But let me be clear, he doesn’t even pick up my calls. I try to reach out, sometimes he says he’s busy and he never bothers to call back or explain anything,” Mariga added, emphasizing his frustration.
The confrontation has sparked mixed reactions online, with many questioning Bahati’s intentions and others defending him as an entertainer who thrives on publicity. Regardless, Mariga maintained that he wants nothing to do with showbiz drama, distancing himself from the claims.
