A 25 year old Joseph Mureithi died in a tragic incident after he was allegedly pushed out of a moving Super Metro bus same bus ran over him before speeding off, leaving him fatally injured by the roadside.

A 25-year-old man identified as Joseph Mureithi has died in a tragic incident after he was allegedly pushed out of a moving bus belonging to Super Metro along the Kitengela–Namanga Highway on Tuesday night.

Witnesses claim that moments after he was ejected from the vehicle, the same bus ran over him before speeding off, leaving him fatally injured by the roadside.

Mureithi, who worked as a petrol station attendant in Athi River, had reportedly just completed his shift and boarded the Nairobi-bound bus at around 11pm near Shalom Hospital. Passengers alleged that the vehicle was overcrowded and that the crew appeared chaotic and confrontational shortly before the incident, which occurred less than a kilometre into the journey.

Police have since arrested the driver and conductor as investigations continue. Detectives also pursued and impounded the bus, registration number KDK 060H, which was later towed to Athi River Police Station for inspection.

Mureithi was pronounced dead on arrival at Shalom Hospital. Authorities say inquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
