Political activist Kasmuel has launched a sharp attack on ODM leaders Winnie Odinga, Babu Owino, and party secretary-general Edwin Sifuna, questioning their contribution to the party and accusing them of lacking political seriousness.
Speaking during a public forum, Kasmuel dismissed critics within ODM and defended the party’s cooperation with the Kenya Kwanza government. “Watu waache ujinga, sisi tuko na Ruto na Oburu Odinga,” he said, insisting that ODM’s engagement with the government was strategic and beneficial.
Kasmuel further claimed that his participation in protests helped push ODM into government, arguing that such moves demonstrated political maturity. “Mimi nilienda maandamano ODM ikaingia kwa serikali,” he stated.
Turning his criticism directly to Winnie Odinga, Babu Owino, and Sifuna, Kasmuel challenged them to explain their value to the party. “Sifuna, Babu na Winnie watuambie wamefanyia ODM nini?” he asked.
His remarks have sparked intense debate among ODM supporters, with some backing his stance as pragmatic politics, while others accused him of disrespecting elected leaders and undermining party unity. The comments add to growing internal tensions within ODM as the party navigates its relationship with the ruling administration and prepares for future political contests.
