Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has made explosive allegations against Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, claiming betrayal within the ODM leadership during past elections.
Speaking during a political forum, Malala alleged that while he was working closely with President William Ruto under the UDA camp, Junet Mohamed was secretly briefing Ruto on ODM’s internal strategies.
“When I was in UDA, I was Ruto’s right-hand man. Junet used to come at night and brief Ruto on all the plans ODM had,” Malala claimed.
He further alleged that sensitive party information, including a list of ODM agents across the country, had been compromised.
Malala went on to accuse Junet of betraying ODM leader Raila Odinga, popularly known as Baba, saying Odinga had placed immense trust in him.
“Baba entrusted Junet with his life, but sadly he betrayed him and caused him to lose elections,” Malala alleged, adding that the betrayal began while Odinga was still politically active.
The claims have triggered intense debate online, with supporters and critics sharply divided. No evidence has been publicly presented to back the allegations, and Junet Mohamed has not issued an official response to the claims.
The remarks come amid escalating political realignments and renewed accusations as leaders trade blame over past electoral losses and shifting alliances.
