Political activist Nuru Okanga has weighed in on a viral clip involving a woman that sparked heated online debate. While expressing sympathy, Okanga questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident, particularly why the woman stepped out without underwear, suggesting it may have been due to extreme heat.
“Pole sana my sister, lakini mbona utoke bila ngotha, kwani joto ilikuwa juu design gani?” Okanga said, before firmly shifting focus to what he termed the real offense—the act of recording and sharing the video.
He condemned the person who filmed the woman, calling for their arrest and punishment. “The guy who recorded this should be arrested,” Okanga stated, arguing that filming someone in a vulnerable moment and circulating the footage amounts to harassment and a violation of privacy.
His remarks have fueled a broader conversation online about public decency, personal responsibility, and—most prominently—the growing problem of recording and sharing private moments without consent. Many users echoed Okanga’s call for accountability, emphasizing that consent and dignity should come first, regardless of circumstances.
