Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has taken a sharp jab at President William Ruto, dismissing his development promises and questioning his leadership capacity.
Speaking during a political rally, Gachagua said while President Ruto is promising Kenyans a future comparable to Singapore, the opposition is instead focused on ensuring he serves a single term and returns to his rural home in Sugoi.
“Ruto is promising us Singapore, we are promising him Sugoi. For an incompetent man like Ruto, it’s easier to achieve the Sugoi dream than the Singapore dream. Wacha tufanye hii rahisi ya kumpeleka Sugoi, halafu tuwekee mtu ako na akili ya kutupeleka Singapore,” Gachagua said.
His remarks drew cheers from supporters, signaling growing political tension as leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of the next general election. Gachagua accused the president of failing to deliver on key economic promises and argued that Kenyans deserve leadership capable of turning ambitious visions into reality.
