“Mudavadi is very angry, amekasirika mbaya sana. He says he’s going to personally field and campaign for his Trans-Nzoia gubernatorial candidate in 2027. Shida yao kubwa kwa sasa ni kunitoa”-Natembeya

Trans-Nzoia politics is heating up as veteran politician Moses Wetang’ula Natembeya weighed in on the ongoing tensions between political parties in the county. Speaking candidly, Natembeya warned that the focus on internal party squabbles could hurt the region’s development.

According to Natembeya, Musalia Mudavadi is reportedly very angry and has vowed to personally campaign for the county’s gubernatorial candidate in 2027. “Mudavadi is very angry, amekasirika mbaya sana. He says he’s going to personally field and campaign for his Trans-Nzoia gubernatorial candidate in 2027,” Natembeya revealed.

The senior politician criticized what he described as a tendency to prioritize removing political opponents over addressing the real issues affecting the people of Trans-Nzoia. “Shida yao kubwa kwa sasa ni kunitoa, si kutatua shida ya mlhuya,” he said, highlighting that this focus on political exclusion undermines service delivery and progress in the county.

Natembeya also pointed out that Mudavadi’s party, ANC, is facing structural challenges in the region. “MCA, MP, Woman Rep, Governor na Senator wako wote ni wa ODM, si ANC. Chama ya ANC yenyewe ulikulia mandazi,” he noted, emphasizing that ANC has not yet established a strong political foothold compared to ODM.

The veteran leader went on to warn that the rush to remove political rivals could be counterproductive. “Hiyo speed ya kutaka kunitoa, si ulete maendeleo Trans-Nzoia,” he stated, reminding politicians that true leadership should prioritize development over partisan squabbles.

Natembeya’s remarks are likely to intensify the political debate ahead of the 2027 elections, as both ANC and ODM strategize to consolidate their influence in the strategically important county.
