Nyandarua Senator John Methu has stirred controversy after declaring that if Kalonzo Musyoka and Rigathi Gachagua ever formed a government, and he was appointed as the Interior Cabinet Secretary for just five days, he would arrest President William Ruto.
“Siku ile Kalonzo na Rigathi mtapata serikali, mnipatie kazi ya Interior siku tano. Kazi yangu itakuwa kushika mtu anaitwa Ruto niweke yeye ndani,” Methu said during a political gathering.
The senator’s statement, which quickly went viral on social media, has sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans. Some criticized him for making divisive and inflammatory remarks, while others dismissed it as political banter made in the heat of the moment.
Methu, one of the youngest senators in the country and a vocal UDA member, has yet to issue an official clarification regarding the controversial statement.
