Wanakaa Vizuri:Meet Uhuru Kenyatta’s Daughter-in-Law; The Girl Who Stole Jomo Kenyatta Jr.’s Heart

Fiona Achola Ngobi, popularly known as Fiona Achola, is the woman who captured the heart of Jomo Kenyatta Jr—the eldest son of former President Uhuru Kenyatta and former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.

For years, Achola lived away from the spotlight, but her life changed once her relationship with Jomo Jr became public. She officially joined the Kenyatta family in 2016 through a traditional wedding held at Ichaweri, Gatundu—the family’s ancestral home.

Two years later, on April 8, 2018, the couple celebrated yet another lavish wedding—an all-white ceremony at State House. This event marked her formal entry into one of Kenya’s most powerful families.

Achola comes from an equally influential lineage. She is the granddaughter of the late William Odongo Omamo, a former minister and Member of Parliament, and the niece of Raychelle Omamo, Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Defence. Her family roots connect her to both Kenya and Uganda, reflecting a strong heritage in politics and public service even before marrying into the Kenyatta dynasty.

Together with Jomo Jr, Achola has two children. Their firstborn, Wanjiru, was born in November 2017 at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi. Their son, Uhuru, was born on May 27, 2020, at Nairobi Hospital. Both children carry the names of Jomo Jr’s parents, a gesture seen as a way of continuing the Kenyatta legacy.

Public reports suggest Achola is highly educated, with claims that she holds two master’s degrees. Despite her status as a member of the former First Family, she has deliberately kept a low profile—rarely appearing in the media or making public statements. Instead, she is known for quietly supporting her family while maintaining her privacy.
