Fresh controversy has rocked the CHAN tournament after claims emerged that thousands of police officers who provided security at Kasarani and Nyayo stadiums are yet to be paid the promised allowances.
According to insiders, about 5,000 police officers were deployed to maintain order inside and outside the stadiums. Each officer was reportedly promised Ksh.12,000 per game day, but the amount was later slashed to Ksh.3,300.
Shockingly, some officers allege that they only received Ksh.300 per day—a figure that has left many demanding answers.

“We want to know who was in charge of the money and why we were not paid as agreed,” one of the affected officers lamented.
The revelations have sparked outrage among officers, many of whom feel shortchanged and exploited. Calls are now growing for an investigation to uncover what really happened to their allowances.
