President William Ruto has assured the nation that there will be no fraud in the health sector as long as he is still in-charge of the country.
Addressing today in Nairobi, the head of State noted that there has been too much fake news on SHA/SHIF procurement that the exercise is marred by fraud and secrecy,
“There is a lot of fake news and incorrect information out here.
“We have challenges of fraud and corruption that have bedeviled NHIF; I want to assure you and the country that there will never be such in SHA programme as long as I am in-charge of this country,” he asserted authority.
Dr. Ruto stated that, as a government, they have costed everything and the procurement process of equipment in the health sector has been done above board.
He announced that there has never been any obligation on any county government to buy whatever equipment from any particular supplier.
“Anyone saying this are conmen and, by the way, why should you be forced to sign a wrong agreement or wrong thing? You have to be a fool to do that,” he added further.
The commander-in-chief asked the county chiefs among them Kilifi’s Gideon Mungaro to get their own equipment elsewhere if they have a better alternative.
Ruto again assured the country that he will not preside over fraud in his government.
