Samuel Kahiga a 56 Year old man who has been behind bars for three decades tied the knot with the love of his life Lucy Wanjiku at Full Gospel Church Ol kalou Nyandarua county.
The ceremony was presided over by Bishop George Gathari and hundreds of congregants flocked the church to witness the wedding.
In the ceremony that took place on Sunday before church service, the couple exchanged vows after noone stepped forward to oppose the union.
The Bishop encouraged the couple to stick to their goals and focus ahead, as he appealed to the society to embrace reformed prisoners and welcome them back.
Samuel Kahiga spent 31 years under the watchful eye of the uncompromising prison officers at the highly protected Naivasha Maximum Security Prison.
He was sentenced to death for a robbery with violence in August 1991.
Later, the jail term was commuted to a life sentence, saving Samuel from the hangman’s noose.
While in prison, he made a remarkable transformation and 10 months ago he was set free.
He met 27 Year Old Lucy Wanjiku who he says has really been supportive through his journey.
Congratulations to the happy couple.
