Five people, including four members of the same family, tragically lost their lives in a landslide on Tuesday night after heavy rainfall in Kasisit, Baringo County.

The woman’s husband, who survived the disaster, shared his harrowing experience. He was stranded in Kabarnet town due to the heavy rains and decided to spend the night there. Later, he received the devastating news that his entire house, along with his wife and grandfather, had been buried by the landslide.
The scale of the landslide prompted immediate action from the Kenya Red Cross and the Baringo County Disaster Department, who launched search and rescue missions. As of the last update, one body remained missing, while five others had been recovered.
