39-year-old businessman buys bank that refused to loan him Sh. 1.4 million

Adam Deering, a successful businessman, has proven his doubters wrong 17 years after being rejected for a loan due to his youth and lack of experience. He has now bought the same bank’s building, safe and all, as a testament to his hard work and determination.

At the age of 21, Adam quit his job as a salesman and sought a £10,000 ($12,800) loan to start his own business. Despite presenting a comprehensive business plan, he was turned down by the bank manager who deemed him too young and inexperienced. This rejection only fueled Adam’s determination to succeed. He started his debt management company from a small office in Stretford, Greater Manchester, where he cold-called potential clients from the floor for the first four months.

Fast forward to 2014, and Adam sold his debt management firm for £5 million ($6.4m), and today he is the head of multiple multi-million pound businesses, including Hanover Insolvency and Pride Planning. He has also built a property portfolio worth millions and is a respected motivational speaker, inspiring others with his rags to riches story.

Recently, Adam spent £450,000 ($580k) to purchase the bank building in Urmston, Greater Manchester, where his dream was once belittled. He plans to turn it into a mixed retail and residential development, with plans to spend an additional £500,000 ($643k) on the project.

Adam’s story is a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and never giving up on one’s dreams.
