In an extraordinary story that has left many people stunned, Namubiru Susan, a 28-year-old woman from Uganda, has opened up about her mysterious experience of becoming pregnant at the age of 16 — despite insisting that she had never been intimate with any man.
Speaking during an interview with Afrimax TV, Susan narrated how her journey began with a shocking revelation at home.
“My mom was the one who first discovered that I was pregnant. When she told me, I quickly denied it because I had never slept with any man,” she recalled.
Initially, her parents were skeptical and found it hard to believe her claims. Determined to uncover the truth, they took her to several hospitals for medical examinations. To everyone’s disbelief, test results confirmed that Susan was indeed pregnant, yet medical experts also found no evidence that she had ever engaged in sexual activity.
“We went to the hospital, and the results showed I was pregnant but had never met any man. This shocked everyone, including the doctors,” Susan added.
The case baffled the medical professionals who could not explain how conception had occurred under such circumstances. Her father later sought the opinion of traditional healers, but even they were unable to provide any explanation beyond confirming what doctors had already found.
A Shocking Discovery Near the River
Further investigations by her family reportedly led to a startling finding. Near their home, there was a river where both men and women frequently went to bathe and wash. According to Susan, it was later discovered that some men used the river to engage in indecent acts, including masturbation.
Her family came to believe that contaminated water in the river might have been the source of her mysterious pregnancy — though this explanation remains medically unproven.
“Both me and my parents were shocked, but we had to accept what happened and move on. Though my parents stopped being angry, neighbors judged me harshly. Some accused me of lying, while others blamed my parents for poor parenting,” she said.
Despite the gossip and stigma from her community, Susan said her parents stood by her side through the ordeal, offering support and advice until the day she safely delivered her baby.
Mixed Reactions
Her story has since gone viral, sparking heated discussions across social media platforms. While some people sympathize with Susan and believe her experience could have been a rare scientific anomaly, others remain skeptical, saying there must be another logical explanation for the pregnancy.
Medical experts have noted that while spontaneous or non-intercourse-related pregnancies are biologically extremely unlikely, unusual cases in medical history have sometimes challenged scientific understanding.
Whatever the truth behind Susan’s story, her experience continues to spark conversations about science, spirituality, and belief in African societies, where such mysterious occurrences are often interpreted in diverse cultural and religious ways.
