Flamboyant and controversial Kenyan preacher, Pastor Victor Kanyari, has suffered a major setback after his newly acquired luxury vehicle was auctioned off.
The high-profile incident unfolded right in front of his congregation during a church service. Kanyari, known for his bold sermons and flashy lifestyle, watched helplessly as his brand new Lexus LX 570 was repossessed by a debt recovery firm.
According to the pastor, he had reached an agreement with the company to clear a debt of Ksh. 8 million by the end of the week. However, despite the verbal understanding, the company proceeded with the auction, citing strict adherence to contractual terms.
“The rules had to be followed,” Kanyari said during the service, attempting to lighten the mood with a few jokes. But beneath the laughter, the pain in his voice revealed just how much the incident had shaken him.
A screenshot of the auction notice has since gone viral on Instagram, sparking mixed reactions online.
