This past weekend, socialite Vera Sidika took a reflective journey through her past, recalling a time when she was staunchly opposed to the idea of marriage.
In a resurfaced interview, Vera, now a mother of two, was unequivocal about her decision to never marry.
Her words back then were firm, expressing a clear resolve to avoid marriage altogether.
However, life took an unexpected turn for Vera. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she found herself falling in love with singer Brown Mauzo. Their intense romance quickly led to marriage, and soon after, they welcomed two children into their lives.
For a while, it appeared that Vera had found a happiness she never anticipated.
But as swiftly as their love story began, it ended. In August 2023, Vera and Brown Mauzo mutually decided to part ways, marking the end of their marriage.
This separation seemed to bring Vera back to her original views on marriage, reinforcing her earlier skepticism.
Reflecting on her past and the experiences that led her to this point, Vera opened up to her followers, expressing regret over her change of heart during the pandemic.
“This was 8 years ago. I always said I never wanted to get married. Don’t know what happened during COVID-19, but I’ve been there, and trust me: marriage is a scam! Never again!” Vera candidly shared, revealing her disillusionment with the concept of marriage.
For Vera, this experience seems to have reaffirmed her belief that marriage is not for her.
Although she didn’t delve into the specifics of what went wrong, she made it clear that marriage is no longer a path she wishes to pursue.
Meanwhile, Brown Mauzo appears to be on a different journey. Shortly after their separation, he hinted that he might be open to the idea of marriage once again. In mid-August, after celebrating his one-year dating anniversary with his new partner, Kabinga, Mauzo strongly suggested that he was ready to walk down the aisle once more.
