Self-proclaimed chairman of gospel music in Kenya, Ringtone Apoko, who is currently embroiled in serious court cases that could see him jailed if found guilty, has sparked debate online after revealing why a collaboration with Stevo Simple Boy never materialized.
In an interview with Trudy Kitui, Ringtone Apoko claimed that he personally approached Stevo Simple Boy, proposing a gospel music collaboration. According to Apoko, Stevo turned down the offer, stating that he would only collaborate if Apoko paid him Ksh. 1 million.
Apoko explained that the hefty fee was beyond his means. Currently residing in Runda Estate, he says he is financially strained and burdened with numerous court cases, many of which concern allegations of illegal property acquisition. He revealed that these challenges are the reason the anticipated collaboration with Stevo Simple Boy could not take place.
The revelation has sparked reactions online, with fans debating whether Stevo Simple Boy’s pricing is justified and questioning the credibility of Apoko’s claims.
