Soy Mp David Kiplagat begs Uhuru to forgive Ruto-Uhuru Kenyatta should forgive President William Ruto and move on. Right now, he is behind the third political force.

David Kiplagat, the Member of Parliament for Soy Constituency, has publicly urged former President Uhuru Kenyatta to forgive President William Ruto and refrain from interfering in current politics.

In a recent statement, Kiplagat said:

“Uhuru Kenyatta should forgive President William Ruto and move on. Right now, he is behind the third political force. He served as our leader and then retired. It’s unclear why he now has this political appetite to come out of retirement and disrupt the system.”

Kiplagat’s remarks suggest that he sees Uhuru’s continued political involvement as potentially divisive, particularly given Ruto’s position as the sitting president. He framed the call for forgiveness as a step toward stabilising the political environment and allowing the current administration to focus on governance rather than political rivalry.

The statement has attracted attention in political circles, fueling discussions about the role of former leaders in active politics, inter-party dynamics, and the balance between personal ambition and national interest. Observers note that calls for reconciliation between prominent leaders can influence public perception and contribute to calmer political discourse ahead of future electoral contests.

Kiplagat’s appeal underscores the broader debate in Kenya about respecting the transitions of power, avoiding personal vendettas, and ensuring that retired leaders do not inadvertently destabilize the political system they once served.
