Mzee Sabasita, the father of Tanzanian artist Tunda, gained widespread attention when it was revealed that he actively participated in arranging his burial plot to meet specific standards and appearances.

Furthermore, Mzee Sabasita disclosed that he not only orchestrated the details of his grave but also made plans to acquire a coffin for his final journey.

The most recent update reveals that Mzee Sabasita has now received the completed coffin from the carpenters who diligently crafted it over the past six months.

As reported on Wasafi TV, upon the arrival of his coffin, Mzee Sabasita expressed immense joy at the craftsmanship that took over half a year, stating that all he awaits now is his inevitable passing.

“I am genuinely delighted. Today marks a day of great happiness for me. This day is significant because I have received what I shared with the public – after preparing the grave, now I am awaiting the coffin,” expressed the retired police officer.

“The coffin is exquisite, and I am satisfied with it. I paid three million, but what I have received matches the quality corresponding to the amount I paid. Now, I await death,” he added.

Initially estimating his grave’s cost at seven million, he mentioned that, with advice from various individuals, improvements were made. To date, he has spent a total of thirteen million, including ten million on the grave and three million on the coffin.

In an interview last year, he defended his decision to prepare for his funeral, citing the financial unpreparedness of his late parents’ situation in 1995 as a motivating factor.

“I’m undertaking these preparations to avoid the inconveniences I witnessed in 1995 when my parents passed away. Moreover, it’s to alleviate the financial burden on my family and to emphasize that death is inevitable. Each passing day reduces our lifespan by one day as we age,” explained Mzee Sabasita at that time.
