Former Nairobi Diaries cast member Maureen Imbayi, famously known as Black Cinderella, has reportedly faced eviction from her residence in Ruaka due to her inability to meet the monthly rent of Ksh 150,000.
According to reports from BNN News, Cinderella found herself in a heated dispute with her landlord once the news of her eviction from the Ruaka property began circulating on social media.
In light of these circumstances, the socialite has decided to move to Roysambu, where it has been disclosed that she is now paying a monthly rent of Ksh 20,000.
This recent incident comes not long after Cinderella’s involvement in another highly publicized scandal. Cinderella was detained for a two-day period on accusations of defrauding a Nigerian national of Ksh 540,000.
According to a report lodged at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) police station on May 30, Imbayi had employed her Snapchat account to deceive Nigerians residing in Kenya by suggesting that she could facilitate the exchange of Nairas for Kenyan Shillings.
The money exchange bureau ‘Koko Send,’ which targeted Nigerians, had purportedly entered into a partnership with Imbayi, designating her as their brand ambassador.
Imbayi went so far as to open an account with Wema Bank, a Nigerian financial institution, to further her fraudulent scheme. Customers were required to deposit Nairas into Imbayi’s Wema Bank account.
Upon receipt of the funds, she would then allegedly remit the equivalent amount in Kenyan Shillings, following a deduction for her commission. However, Imbayi vanished after receiving the money, falsely asserting that she had left the country and traveled to Lagos, Nigeria. Suspicions of being scammed prompted the victim to file a report against Imbayi, eventually leading to her arrest and the subsequent reimbursement of the funds to the victim.
