RIP: Shock as Tanker Driver Runs Over Woman Twice Killing Her on the Spot

A family in Kisii County is mourning the tragic death of Damaris Kwamboka, a young mother whose life was cut short in a horrific road accident.

According to relatives, Damaris had left home early in the morning to buy bread and head to work. She had her eight-month-old baby strapped to her back after dropping off her elder child at school.

While walking along the road, a fuel tanker reportedly ran over her leg, causing her to fall to the ground and cry out for help. Witnesses said a passerby shouted at the driver to stop, and he briefly did—but what followed shocked everyone.

Damaris’s aunt, Teresa Moraa, said the driver appeared angry and reversed the truck, crushing the young mother completely and killing her instantly.

“She screamed for help, but before anyone could reach her, the driver reversed and ran over her again,” Moraa recounted tearfully.

The driver then sped off from the scene, despite attempts by nearby youths to block his escape.

Moraa said a woman who recognized Damaris called the family to break the heartbreaking news. The baby survived the incident and was taken to safety as Damaris’s body was moved to the mortuary.

The family described Damaris as a hardworking and humble single mother of two, who had struggled to raise her children after losing both parents in 2017. Having dropped out after Grade 8, she had been doing casual jobs to make ends meet.

Shockingly, Moraa revealed that the same driver had been linked to at least three other pedestrian deaths and was already facing multiple court cases.

The grieving family is now calling on authorities to ensure justice is served and urging well-wishers to support them during this difficult time.

Police in Kisii have launched a manhunt for the runaway driver, as investigations into the fatal incident continue.
