President William Ruto has announced plans to provide skills training to 600,000 young people, women, and single mothers across the country.
Speaking during a recent event, the President said, “Tunatafuta vijana, kina mama na single-mothers 600,000, tuwafanyie training kwa sababu tunataka wafanye biashara na serikali.” He emphasized that the initiative aims to equip participants with the skills needed to engage in business and entrepreneurship, with opportunities to partner with government programs.
The program is expected to support economic empowerment, particularly for women and youth, helping them create sustainable businesses and contribute to national development. Government officials have said details of the training schedule and application process will be shared in the coming weeks.
Observers say the initiative could play a key role in addressing unemployment and promoting inclusive economic growth, especially among marginalized groups.
