DJ Fatxo, a renowned Mugithi musician, has finally broken his silence regarding the enigmatic murder of his former makeup artist, Jeff Mwathi.
Fatxo, who co-hosted the popular Radio Jambo show with Massawe in Japani, fondly recalled Jeff as a fine young man and a close companion they had met at a shoe store.
Expressing bewilderment, Fatxo has vehemently denied his involvement as a suspect in Mwathi’s murder, asserting his incapacity to commit such a heinous act.
“I categorically deny being a murderer,” Fatxo insisted. “Jeff was my friend, and I fail to comprehend why I would harm him. He was a young man with a bright future.”
Following his exoneration from the murder charges linked to Mwathi’s demise at Fatxo’s residence on Kasarani Street, the Mugithi musician made his first public radio appearance a week later.
Fatxo disclosed that Jeff had visited his house on the day of his unfortunate demise, as they had planned to meet and discuss Fatxo’s innovative approach to educating phonograph players and DJs.
Their acquaintance began when Fatxo was introduced to Jeff by a mutual relative named Kinuthia, who had been searching for him on WhatsApp.
Subsequently, they embarked on a journey from one club to another, indulging in food and drinks until Fatxo became quite intoxicated. Despite his inebriation, Fatxo insisted on driving Jeff home to ensure he reached his bed safely.
Recently, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) released a report and charged Fatxo with various offenses. Fatxo expressed feeling significantly defamed due to these allegations and promptly instructed his legal team to write to the DPP, seeking clarifications regarding Jeff’s untimely death.
