Controversial preacher Pastor Victor Kanyari has angrily responded to claims circulating online that some people are planning to take away his children following the death of gospel singer Betty Bayo.
Speaking with visible emotion, Kanyari made it clear that he will never allow anyone to separate him from his children, emphasizing that he has worked tirelessly to provide and care for them.
“Hakuna siku nitaacha watoto wangu, afadhali nikufe. Nashangaa watu kwa mitandao wameanza kugawana watoto wangu ati watakaa nao sababu mama yao hayuko. Ile bidii yote nafanya ni kwa ajili ya watoto wangu,” said Pastor Kanyari.
The preacher further revealed that despite his past differences with Betty Bayo, the two had been co-parenting peacefully, ensuring their children lacked nothing. He insisted that their strong bond as parents should be respected, regardless of Betty’s marriage to Tash, her later husband.
“Mimi na Betty tumekuwa tukilea watoto wetu vizuri sana, lakini siwezi kuacha watoto wangu ati sababu alikuwa ameolewa na Tash,” he added.
Kanyari’s remarks have sparked an emotional debate online, with many Kenyans expressing sympathy for him as he mourns the mother of his children. Others, however, urged him to remain calm and handle family matters privately to protect the children from unnecessary public attention.
As he continues to mourn Betty Bayo, Kanyari has asked Kenyans to respect his role as a father and to allow him to raise his children in peace, saying his only focus now is to give them the best life possible in honor of their late mother.
