A recent video featuring Pastor James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism has ignited controversy on various social media platforms in Kenya.
In an undisclosed video circulating widely online, Pastor Ng’ang’a is heard offering a reward of Ksh 1,000,000 to anyone able to present him with evidence of a Luo individual without an HIV/AIDS infection. He expresses concerns about what he perceives as immoral behavior in society, specifically within the Luo community, implying that they are on a path towards condemnation.
In the footage, Ng’ang’a declares, “Hawa watu wa Nyanza wanaendelea kukera Mungu. Jehenamu yazidi kupanuliwa juu yao. Nionyeshe jaluo hana ukimwi nimpee milioni moja…” (Translation: “These people from Nyanza continue to anger God. Hellfire is expanding because of them. Show me a Luo without HIV/AIDS, and I’ll give you one million…”)
Critics on social media have accused Pastor Ng’ang’a of fueling tribalism in the country and have urged relevant authorities to take action against the preacher for his divisive statements.
