A Kenyan man has been left devastated after losing his wife and three of his children in a tragic road accident at Ngoluni market in Makueni County. Speaking in an emotional interview, he narrated the heartbreaking sequence of events that turned his life upside down.
He explained that on the day of the accident, his wife and children had travelled to pick up their firstborn son, who had just completed his KCSE exams at Makueni Boys. The family stayed in touch throughout the day, and even informed him when they boarded a matatu for their journey back home.
However, only a few minutes later, he received a distressing call from his son—the same boy they had gone to pick. The teenager told him that the matatu had been involved in a serious accident.
At the time, the man was in Mombasa. He immediately boarded the next bus and arrived in Makueni about three hours later. Upon reaching the hospital, he found two of his children admitted with injuries. His wife and three other children were nowhere to be found.
After searching frantically and making inquiries, the painful truth was revealed: his wife and the three children had been taken to the mortuary. It was at that moment that reality struck—he had lost almost his entire family in one night.
The grieving father says he is overwhelmed by the sudden burden and is appealing to the government and well-wishers for support, as he struggles to cope with the immense loss.
