Mulamwah recently featured on Dr. Ofweneke’s YouTube program, providing insights into his past relationship with his former partner, Carol Sonnie, which came to an end in 2021.
During the interview, Ofweneke delved into the reasons behind their breakup, prompting Mulamwah to share, “There was a recurring issue. Something had occurred before, and whenever I noticed a similar pattern in someone, it troubled me. I believed it was wiser to end the relationship immediately to avoid further complications. I took full responsibility for everything and ensured that all medical bills for the mother and child were settled.”
Mulamwah hinted that the catalyst for Sonnie’s behavior was linked to his spending habits. He clarified, “I haven’t been miserly. If you have the means, spend it. We are individuals who arrived in Nairobi by bus, with the plan to hustle for 2 or 3 years and then return. Hence, it’s crucial to remember our humble beginnings.”
Continuing, he explained, “Residing in a Ksh 9,000 house doesn’t imply a lack of funds. I have over a million, but it doesn’t make sense to be asked to spend Ksh 8,000 on a night out, especially when we are also allocating Ksh 2,000 monthly to someone caring for our cows. I come from a background where money holds great value; Ksh 1,000 can sustain my grandma for two weeks. I cannot be persuaded to spend 10-15k a night without accountability.”
Mulamwah underscored that the discord originated from his perspective on extravagant spending. In response, Sonnie sought someone else who could meet her desires.
“That was the core issue. These women have specific preferences, and if they can’t find it here, they will look for it elsewhere. That was our only problem. When I realized that ‘this’ and ‘this’ were happening, I chose to end it for my peace,” Mulamwah concluded, reiterating that their primary disagreement revolved around differing views on spending.
