‘Nilikuwa mtu wa mkono wa Willy Paul, saa hii Maybe nimpe Kazi’ Bahati says

Popular Kenyan musician and entrepreneur Kevin Bahati recently shared a heartfelt story about his journey to success, highlighting the challenges he faced and the people who helped shape his career.

Speaking on the Mic Cheque Podcast, Bahati offered fans a glimpse into his early days in the industry, marked by persistence, sacrifice, and support from those who believed in his talent.

Bahati recalled moments when he had no place to stay and would rely on the kindness of friends. A key figure during this period was respected video producer J Blessing. The two spent countless hours in the studio, where Bahati not only found shelter but also learned crucial production skills.

“J Blessing believed in me. He used to stay with me at the studio while editing, and he was confident I was the right person to learn the craft,” Bahati said.

He also spoke fondly about his early work with fellow artist Willy Paul, sharing that he once served as his assistant during the initial stages of his career.

“I used to help promote his song Sitolia. I’d deliver it to radio stations, and sometimes he even gave me fare to make the trips,” Bahati shared.

These stories offer a powerful reminder of the importance of mentorship, friendship, and resilience in the journey toward success.
