A recent video featuring Pastor James Ng’ang’a from Neno Evangelism has sparked widespread displeasure among Kenyans on various social media platforms.
In an undated video circulating online, Pastor Ng’ang’a can be heard urging his congregation to identify any Luo individual without HIV/AIDS, promising a substantial reward of Ksh 1,000,000. He expresses his refusal to tolerate what he perceives as immoral behavior within the society, specifically targeting the Luo community by suggesting they are on a path to hell.
In his own words, the TV preacher states, “These people from Nyanza are continually provoking God. Hell is expanding because of them. Show me a Luo without HIV, and I will give them one million…,” as quoted by Ng’ang’a.
Critics on social media have accused Pastor Ng’ang’a of promoting tribalism in the country, emphasizing the need for relevant authorities to take action against the preacher. The controversial statements made by the pastor have ignited a public outcry, highlighting concerns about the divisive nature of such remarks and the potential harm they can cause to social harmony.
It remains to be seen how the authorities will respond to these allegations, as the public discourse on the matter continues to grow, fueled by the impact of social media in amplifying and disseminating controversial content.
