Kenyan rapper Stoopid Boy recently stirred up a social media frenzy after accusing Khaligraph Jones of being desperate for relevance.
In a viral video that circulated a few days ago, the ‘G baga Jat’ artist claimed that the veteran rapper’s career is in decline and suggested that Khaligraph’s appearance on the ‘Anguka Nayo’ remix was a desperate move to regain attention.
“Why do you think OG (Khaligraph) jumped on the Anguka Nayo remix? You know why? He fell off. He noticed people weren’t listening to him anymore. He wants to come back into the limelight by latching onto something that young, hungry artists have created,” Stoopid Boy said. “There are things to joke about and things to take seriously. Someone like OG has had his time in the industry,” he added.
Stoopid Boy also expressed his disappointment with the original ‘Anguka Nayo’ artists for featuring Khaligraph, suggesting that the emerging talents behind the track deserved the spotlight. The song, released by Wadagliz, has become a viral sensation, racking up millions of views and inspiring countless online challenges.
Khaligraph’s Response
In response to the controversy, Khaligraph took an unexpected approach by choosing not to retaliate. Instead of escalating the beef, he praised Stoopid Boy for his successful track.
“I can never negatively respond to young, talented people like Stoopid Boy. He has this one song that’s really good, and I like it,” Khaligraph shared with SPM Buzz.
Khaligraph Jones went on to express openness to a future collaboration with Stoopid Boy.
“When the time and environment are right, why not? He’s a guy with potential,” he further stated.
The rapper’s response has sparked a heated debate among fans, with opinions split on the issue.
