A shocking revelation from Nairobi has drawn attention after a woman exposed her husband, a man posing as a pastor, for deceiving believers through fake miracles during their short-lived marriage. Agnes Njiru, a trained nurse and single mother, recounted meeting him on Facebook and marrying him within a matter of weeks.
According to Njiru, the man introduced himself as a widowed pastor from Ruiru with three children, appearing ready for a serious relationship. After confirming his background through family, she felt she had found a trustworthy partner.
But the marriage quickly deteriorated. Njiru described how he became controlling and emotionally abusive, making belittling comments and pressuring her to cover up his fraudulent activities. He kept control of their finances, misused wedding contributions, and refused to contribute to household needs. He even forbade her from attending church or discussing their problems with clergy.
Feeling trapped and disrespected, Njiru ended the marriage after only a month. She later discovered that he falsely accused her of being a bigamist to ruin her reputation.
Her story serves as a cautionary tale, warning women to carefully evaluate potential partners, especially those met online, and to be wary of individuals who manipulate faith and trust for personal gain.
