Nairobi Man Found Dead In Lodging, Police Reveal What They Saw On Bed After Peeping Inside

‎The rising number of sudden deaths reported in lodging facilities across the country has once again raised concern among Kenyans. The most recent case was recorded in Eastleigh, Nairobi, where a man was found dead under mysterious circumstances.

‎Police confirmed that 58-year-old Yassin Hassan was discovered lifeless inside his room at Jiddah Guest House, located along 12th Street. According to records at the facility, Hassan had checked in on August 22, 2025, and had remained there until his untimely death, which occurred on September 3.

‎The grim discovery was made by the guest house manager during a routine inspection. He narrated that he went to Hassan’s room and knocked repeatedly but received no response. Growing uneasy, he decided to peep through the window. To his shock, he saw Hassan lying motionless on the bed.

‎Alarmed by the sight, the manager immediately notified the police. Officers arrived promptly at the scene and were forced to break into the locked room. Inside, they confirmed that Hassan had already passed away. Alongside his body, police recovered several sets of assorted medications, which were collected and preserved as part of the ongoing investigations.

‎Witnesses at the scene, including staff members and police officers, described the situation as distressing. The body was later transferred to the mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death.

‎Authorities have so far indicated that no clear signs of foul play were observed at the scene. However, they emphasized that the autopsy results will guide further investigative steps and help determine whether the death was due to natural causes, medical complications, or any other factor.

‎This incident adds to a worrying trend of unexplained deaths in lodgings and guest houses across different parts of the country. Security agencies and health officials have been urged to strengthen monitoring mechanisms to ensure safety in such facilities.

‎For now, Hassan’s death remains under investigation as family members, residents, and authorities await the official medical findings. The case has once again served as a reminder of the need for heightened vigilance in dealing with sudden and unexplained deaths in public spaces.
