A family in Lanet, Nakuru County, is breathing a sigh of relief after their two children, who went missing for three agonizing days, were unexpectedly returned home under puzzling circumstances.
Six-year-old Blessing Wangui and her three-year-old brother Sammy Lewis vanished on Sunday, August 31, after attending Rapha Gospel Church with their older sisters, Teresia Wambui and Faith Kanini.
According to the family, the siblings had been playing outside with other children while the service was ongoing. But when Faith checked on them at around 3:30 p.m., Blessing and Sammy were nowhere to be found.
Panic quickly set in, prompting an intense search by relatives, church members, and residents. For three days, the family endured sleepless nights and heartbreaking uncertainty.
Their ordeal ended on Wednesday afternoon when an unidentified woman driving a white car dropped the children near their home before speeding off without a word.
The reunion sparked emotional scenes, with the family overwhelmed with joy after days of fear and desperation.
Despite the children’s safe return, the mystery surrounding their disappearance remains unresolved. Authorities have since launched investigations to determine where the children were kept, what happened during the three days, and who the mysterious woman was.
For now, the family is grateful to have Blessing and Sammy back — but the lingering questions continue to haunt them.
