If you are a frequent user of the X platform, then you surely must have noticed how some users were using the hashtag #FreeMumbiSeraki.
These Kenyans on X (KOX) were actually calling for the release of popular anti-government activist Dr. Mumbi Seraki, who had apparently been missing in action since Friday last week.
Scrolling through her X account, you will realize that Dr. Mumbi Seraki made her last post 5 days ago, and then she suddenly stopped posting.
This is something that left many netizens worried about her whereabouts, because the anti-government activist has always been an active user of the platform.

Fresh details that emerged today however have confirmed that Mumbi Seraki was abducted on Friday by people who are believed to be agents of the state.
According to reports, the fearless activist was lured by someone who pretended to be a lawyer to come and attend a party.
However when she came, she was drugged and put in a vehicle where they drove away with her to some undisclosed location.
Along the way however, the car that they were in caught some fire and even though she cannot remember what happened that night, what she has now revealed is that the incident left her with bruises after being burnt in the fire.
Taking to her X account today, Mumbi Seraki has also shared her latest photos and they showed just how she had also been badly bruised, after being beaten black and blue by the people who had abducted her.

In the post, the anti-government activist was however grateful to all those who pushed the hashtag #FreeMumbiSeraki, to ensure that she is released by her abductors today.
