Shock and grief engulfed Kanorero village in Kangema, Murang’a County, after a woman brutally stabbed her three children in a shocking domestic incident. The victims were aged seven, four, and two years.
Two of the minors died instantly from the injuries, while the third child survived the attack but was left with serious wounds. Neighbours and villagers were left reeling in disbelief as news of the tragedy spread.
Preliminary reports indicate that the woman suspected her husband of having an affair with another woman, which may have triggered the horrifying act. Residents described the incident as one of the most disturbing cases the village has ever witnessed.
After stabbing her children, the woman allegedly turned the knife on herself in an attempt to take her own life. However, she survived the self-inflicted injuries.
She later walked to Kanorero Police Post and surrendered herself to officers. The police immediately transferred her to Kangema Police Station for formal processing as investigations were launched.
Authorities have assured the public that the surviving child is receiving medical attention while the suspect remains in custody. Meanwhile, the incident has sparked heated discussions in the community about mental health, domestic disputes, and the welfare of children.
