Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has caused a stir after launching a fiery attack on Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi during a political event in the Mbeere region.
Gachagua, who has recently been vocal about issues affecting Mt Kenya politics, accused Itumbi of disrespecting Mbeere residents by allegedly offering cheap vegetables in exchange for votes ahead of the upcoming by-election.

“Kwani watu wa Mbeere ni sungura? Ndio Itumbi anakuja hapa kuwapatia sukuma ya shillingi ishirini na nyanya moja moja kuitisha kura? Akwende huko!” Gachagua said, sparking cheers and laughter from his supporters.
His remarks were directed at what he described as belittling campaign strategies targeting vulnerable residents. Gachagua insisted that the people of Mbeere deserved respect, development, and real leadership—not cheap handouts.
