A family meeting in Kayole, Nairobi, aimed at addressing a teenage pregnancy took a tragic turn on May 4, 2025, when an argument escalated into violence.
According to police reports, the gathering was called to discuss the pregnancy of a 19-year-old woman. A 17-year-old boy alleged to be responsible was present at the meeting. During the discussions, a confrontation reportedly broke out, resulting in the boy allegedly attacking members of the family.
Tragically, the 19-year-old’s mother lost her life during the incident. Her sister also sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities say the suspect was quickly apprehended and taken into custody for questioning. A knife believed to have been used in the incident was recovered at the scene, along with a bottle containing a substance suspected to be turpentine.
Investigations are ongoing, with police indicating that the suspect may have had harmful intentions when arriving at the meeting. The deceased’s body has been taken to the mortuary as authorities prepare for further inquiries, including a post-mortem examination.
