Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has answered to Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s
release of the secret NASA deal.
Talking during an interview, Raila, through his recently apointed Presidential Campaign Spokesperson, Prof. Makau Mutua, berated Kalonzo on his abnormal requests to join Azimio La Umoja Movement, saying he doesn’t need him.
As per Mutua, the arrangement being referred to was not legitimately binding as the National Super Alliance (NASA) political alliance was at this point not in existence.
He however was reluctant to confirm whether he was part of the team that over saw the consenting to of the arrangement in 2017.
Regardless, Mutua clarified that Raila was ready to sign an alliance arrangement with the Wiper chief.
However, he expressed that they would in any case go on with their campaigns assuming the Wiper chief failed to join them.
“No one is indispensable in politics. Kalonzo will be the first one to agree with that but he is a vital member of Kenyan politics.
“He has support all over the country and we want him to join us because we want to win with him.”
“I don’t think that we will lose the elections without him but we do not want to imagine that possibility.
“Personally, I think that Kalonzo has no other place to go other than Azimio,” he stated.
